Afternoon Cafe Mocha's with friends! For a while, Lisa and I have taken a few days a week to go to a nearby Starbucks.. (S-Bucks).. That tends to get expensive even when you get a tall brewed with a shot of caramel, one Splenda, and some 2% milk for $2.50. What a glorious afternoon we had today! Lisa has been bringing in a French Press, milk frother, and a bottle of chocolate syrup for afternoon iced mocha's.... I personally think that this is WAY more fun that a silly trip to S-Bucks.
Lisa preparing the iced Mocha's using a French Press.. Note the awesome coffee cup with the Mustache on it behind out cups... Read about that here on The Coastal Chicster.. (I have it on good authority that there will be a contest to give a few of these bad boys away soon on that site:) Ended up making three instead of two when another co-worker came into the kitchen from downstairs..
Looks like we have SNOW! It doesn't happen very often in Virginia and THIS is the FIRST time that we've had this much snow in a long time. According to our neighbors who have lived here since the early 70's.. the last time it was this bad was in 1979.
It started Saturday night and snowed full-time until Sunday early evening. Since we live in an adult only community... (The greatest invention on the planet.. no one under 21 can live here!) the plowing was non-existent and really no one left their apartments. It was mainly us and a few of the under 50 crowd that was out playing in the show. Proof is the pictures and videos of us outside pretty much alone! The best part was that I was already on vacation for Monday when the roads were at their worst. Terry moved the 350Z over to a far out of the way parking area so it was safer from the crazies (us) who would attempt to get out in the snow to drive. (good call) The Jetta and the Z are pictured to the right, covered in snow! Worst part- we were supposed to move Sunday and Monday across town.. that didn't happen.
