Goodbye Little Boy

 We had a good run, you and me. I remember the day you were born. February 3rd, 1997 at #91 30th Street Newport News, VA in the Saint James Terrace Apartments.  

You were the tiniest of five, the runt. They were getting ready to move and we needed to take you with us as soon as possible. You came to us at just under 4 weeks old. You couldn't even get into the litter box! We had to put a cookie sheet on the floor and toss some kitty litter inside so you could manage on your own. 

You were very strong willed. No one could make you do anything that you did't want to do. 

From the very beginning though, your big brother Teddy took you under his wing and he took care of you when we weren't home. He carried you around like you were his baby.

We had our first near death experience when you swallowed a needle while I was sewing when you were three causing you to lose your meow for a while.

We had some fun times and you brought a ton pf personality to the table. I don't know when it happened, but you taught yourself to fetch a little ball that's been in the family for going on 15 years. I have the ball and I am going to make sure you keep it with you forever.

You put up with a lot through the years.. moving, getting a new brother, going to the vet every Saturday. 

You gave us an earful when we brought your little ginger brother Boomer home in 2008. You were mad at us for weeks. We weren't sure how you were going to take the new ginger baby when we adopted Jinx last year. You were less concerned.

Tonight, we lost you. We had a good run, you and me.

5 April

Pretty normal Saturday for us these days.

First, at just after 8 am, we took Spot to Abbey Animal Hospital for his weekly fluid treatment. He's not getting enough hydration these days and they are giving him subcutaneous saline to help us out a bit.

He's been doing pretty well these days. He is seventeen, and we'll do whatever we can to keep him comfortable!

On the way to the grocery store, took a few selfies in the car. Terry loves to be in the background of my selfies! Just ask him!

Ginger Playtime

Jinx is definitely a special baby! He's almost a yeas old now. (Only a few more weeks!) I walked into the kitchen and looked aver and there he was, sitting there like this! He's pretty adorable!

Saturday Morning Fun

Ah yes, Saturday morning fun again taking two of the kids to the vet, Abbey Animal Hospital.

(Spot for  his fluid treatment and Jinx for his 1 year checkup!)

Daleena went with us this time to help me with both babies! He was really enjoying sitting behind her waiting for our appointment.

Mommy's Helpers

Jinx decided to help Mommy out with some crafting this evening. I had literally two more squares to connect and I was done!

Happy Birthday Spot!

Happy 17th Birthday my little Spotty Joe!

He was born in Newport News, VA in the St. James Place Apartments at 30th Street on the James River on this day in 1997, the day before my birthday. Our neighbor called to let us know that the kittens were here and we could have first dibs. 

There he was. Little and white with black tips on his ears and tail and a little black heart on his back. He was the runt. The tiniest baby! That was ours. It was too early to tell if he was a boy or a girl, but he would be ours in less than 5 weeks since they were moving away.

We brought him home and he was too little to use the litter box, so he used a cookie sheet. Teddy, our older cat, a Maine Coon, carried him around until he was a little over 3 months old. It was adorable!

There were the trash can wars of 1998 when he was a year old. We tried everything to keep him out of the trash at night. Tabasco, aluminum foil, tape. EVERYTHING! What finally worked? Terry tossed him in the can with the trash and shook it for a second. He never dug in the trash again!

There was the tumor in his paw incident leading to one digit being surgically removed. There are now the thyroid and kidney issues for which he is being treated. We love the little guy even though he can be a handful!

Snow Day!

Woke up to a correct weatherman again! This morning the backyard was covered in snow. Looks like there is at least 7-8 inches on the table.

Looked out the front door and the same thing. My car is pretty much encapsulated in snow!

I left the door open so the kids could look out the door. Jinx was rather interested in the snow again!

I set up mu work computer and my home computer as well as my iPad at my desk, and made a cup of coffee and started working from my laptop. I got a few hours of work done!

Jinx was crying at the door, begging to go out. I decided to let him go. I never in a million years thought that he would like it this much!

He dug a hole, sat down, and began burying his paws in the show!

Warmed the little guy up and he fell asleep like this on the blanket that I am making for Terry

My Kids

I purchased Spot a heated blanket to "warm up his old bones" but he could barely get to it because the other two decided to hog the silly thing! I ended up making a better place for them all to share the blanket. Seems to work!

Jinx on the top bunk of the kitty condo. He is as pretty as they get!

New Years Babies

Spot and Jinx were amused by a few friends they made at the dining room window this morning. There were a few squirrels hanging out looking for food.. (I tossed a handful of seeds to help them out!)

Sometimes they are just too cute for words. Jinxie was sleeping on the blanket on the couch while I was watching television and Boomer popped up on cuddles in with him. A few minutes later, This is what happened. They are so adorable!

Three Little Faces

My Babies!

This was a pretty special day.. All of the kids were in a  good mood and were amiable to photography. It's not too often that Spot will let us get a goos shot of him.. He's usually growling or hissing. 

Old Cats

Grandpa Rennie bought a kitty bed for Spot, the old one. (He'll be 17 in February). It wasn't too long after it het the floor that Boomer found the bed more comfortable with Spot in it as well. Boomer is a cuddle monster!!

A Rare Moment

A rare moment happened today. Jinx and Spot shared a sweet moment.. literally, just a moment. They sat together for about fifteen minutes before Spotty tired of the whole sharing the window thing and gave a hiss and fled the scene.

Which led to an extremely tired Jinxie falling asleep in my lap!

A Day in the Life....

Jinx Weighs just over 1 pound.

Runs all over the place. 

IF ANYONE goes into the kitchen, he thinks it's food time.

His eyes are turning from blue to green.

Jinxie had an exciting day. He cuddled up with Boomer on the cat bench for quite a while. 

Boomer cleaned jinx's face for a bit...

Had some "Jail Time" in the baby cage in the kitchen so his brothers could eat dinner.

And ended the night passed out on mommy.

Little Ball of Fur

Jinx is on day 2 and he's doing really well.

Jinx is 4 weeks and 1 day old.

He weighs 14 ounces.

He can run from the living room to the kitchen before he gets tired.

He loves to eat and cuddle with his brothers.

He woke up this morning and was still kind of sleepy. He took a nap on Mommy...

Then he had some Mommy time.

He had some 2nd breakfast and it was more on his face than in his belly! :)

When this little guy is out... he is OUT! He has the cutest little toes!

Had a little more sleepy time with Mommy and bonded with Boomer.
