After the Hurricane

Well, we did end up losing power, only for one night though, we were lucky!
There is a good chance that the big tree in the backyard will eventually fall down. It's roots came up a good 4 inches after the water dissipated from the backyard.
We drove out to Terry's warehouse to see how bad the flooding was.. and it was pretty bad!

Yard Work Day

So, today was devoted to getting the back yard mowed and weeded, HOPEFULLY for the last time of the season. Was able to get it all done before noon even! I feel really good about that!

I got all prettied up after and decided to NOT cook dinner! Chinese take out it is!

Kids and a Ton of Grass

Next time I say that I want a decent size front yard, remind me what a pain in the ass it is to mow and weed and take care of!
After I did the yard, I came in and and saw Rocket and Isabella playing! I love those two!

Castle Wiggs

We're still completing the settling in process with the new house and this weekend we spent some time getting the backyard all set up! We bought a little gas fire pit and enjoyed a little fire on the back patio! It's starting to feel a lot like home!

Playroom

The kids room is getting pretty comfortable for them. They do enjoy playing around in there and occasionally, there are some silly sounds that come from the back room.

I Think We're Done Moving In...

Well, it took about a month to get almost everything set up and ready to go. I am still not a huge fan of the yellow kitchen...

This is the view from the back sliding glass door looking into the kitchen.

This is the view from the kitchen table looking left from the back door and right over to the kitchen.

Looking through the kitchen into the dining room and living room.

The dining room and back door.

Back door..

This is the entry hall. I found a decent spot to place the rocking horse that my Dad made a long long time ago. Glad it fits right there so I can see it every day.

Different view of the entry from the living room.

Living room from the front corner
Living room from the back corner.

Looking into the kitchen from the living room..

Looking down the hall. Double doors to the left is the hall closet, then the guest bath and finally the master is the last room on the left. Door at the end of the hall is the guest room. Right side of the hall is the office.

Star Wars runs amok in the living room.

My office. Still not quite done. Lots of things left to do.

Guest room.. eventually... right now, it's the kids (cats) room.

Master.

My Kitchen

So, we've lived in the new house for almost a month. I thought I liked the yellow kitchen.
{Thought is the key word in that statement.}
Considering maybe colonial blue, ash grey or even a pewter color. We're going to live with it for a few more weeks to see how it feels.

Home Improvement

We did our first little project..
Flower Boxes..

The kids definitely feel at home in the new place. Dexter especially, loves just laying around, like his big brother Boomer.

First Hole in the Wall

We did our first little improvement today and drilled a hole in the wall to hang the television. That was a little daunting to put the first hole in the house!
(Missed a few wires- we'll correct that later)

Got the kids all settled into their new room (SPOILED)

We Bought a House!

So, after all these years, we've finally found a place that we love and bought it! We closed today and began moving in!

We're staying in Virginia Beach, at least we know the location well and we're literally 2 miles each from work! Can't really get better than that!

Here we are with our awesome realtor, Brent Montella with the Montella Real Estate Group. He made it insanely easy for us to buy and can't recommend him enough!
