My Baby Boomer

{AKA- The Baby, Killer Bee,  Big Cat, Boomertron, Tron,
Baby Bee, Monkey, Mr. Big Teeth, Simple Jack}

Boomer was born 5 May 2007 in Virginia Beach, VA. His owners decided they didn't want to raise him so they posted an ad on Craig's List. On 5 July 2007, Terry and I decided to check out the ads to see if there was a sweet little kitten who needed a home and there he was. His name was Garfield, but we thought Boomer was better.

We brought him to the house and introduced him to Ted and Spot. It took several months for them to understand that he was not the devil. His first night was filled with playing and fun. He found the most expensive blanket in the house.. (a white Nap Luxe blanket from Brookstone} where he began to make his own. We call it the "Mama Blanket" since he nurses on the edges.

By 31 July he was playing fetch with his green feather stick and anything else that was thrown at him. {As long as it was green}

He lost his bottom two teeth on 7 August 2007 and looked like a little kitty Vampire. That was also the day that he fell off the couch and got stuck between the couch and the bookcase. He loves to cuddle and sleep anywhere his Daddy is laying.

He's lazy and super pliable. He'll be sleeping on the couch and you can pick him up and take him upstairs and he will not wake up. When this one is asleep, he's down for the count.

He loves to sit and watch the backyard or any outside location.

He loves to eat. Mostly sugar. He will run so fast when he hears a snack pack pudding open and beg for a spoon if it's chocolate. He loves food in general though and I've never seen a kitten who will eat as fast as he does. So fat, that he finishes first and tries to get to his brothers food before they can finish.

He's often the lookout for Ted and Spot but he's not too good as his job. His current favorite place to sleep is the dresser drawer next to the bed on top of my shorts. He's a big kitty weighing in at a hefty 15-1/2 pounds but it's pretty proportionate for his body according to the vet. He's just a big boy. We love the little guy! :)

The White Devil

Today's post is dedicated to my cat Spot.

Spotty Joe was born in Newport News, VA on Feb 3, 1997 in the St. James Terrace Apartments on 30th Street. (Yeah, he's a ghetto cat.)

His big yellow-green eyes are mostly filled with rage these days, but he was so cute when he was little.

He was the runt of the litter and fit snugly into the palm of your hand. When we picked him, he was mostly white with black tips on his ears, tail, and eyes with a big heart shaped spot on his back. His mother's owner was about to move so we took him early at 5 weeks. He couldn't even hop into the litter box he was so small. Teddy would carry him around the house like he was his baby. It was adorable.

As he got older, he got attached to two things... A little yellow and white ball and a little brown and white puppy beanie baby doll.

He's definitely Daddy's cat. He really only tolerates me because I do feed them on occasion. I believe he got tired of me playing dress-up with ribbons and collars over the years.

Over time, he's learned to play fetch with his little toys and will keep bringing them back to you as long as you keep throwing.

As time went by, he lost his yellow ball under many a different piece of furniture and luckily his Grandma sent him several more to play with.

He was not too happy with us in 2007 when we adopted Boomer. (He's learned to love Boomer almost as much as he can!)

Not, he's about he be fifteen in a month and a half. He's not been feeling too well lately and has been going through some kidney issues and losing weight. He's become more cuddly and is willing to sit with me more these days.

Every morning, he lets us know it's breakfast time at about 6:45 by crying incessantly until one of us get up to fill his bowl. (It's hard to sleep in anymore!)

All in all, he's a pretty awesome cat.

Frisky Frolicking Felines

Today, we let Boomer and Teddy out in the backyard {on leashes of course}. Spot still refuses to head out there, however, he will sit at the back door and let us know the play by play.

{Boomer is such a handsome boy}

{Teddy looks all serious}

{Boomer sure has the cat's life}
He will lay in the grass and roll around until it's time to go back inside. He's not too happy at that point so he sits by the back door and cries for a little while.

{Teddy is tied to a ten pound weight and fifteen feet of 550 cord}
